The Faculty of Da’wah and Communication (FDK) UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau (UIN Suska Riau) has rushed to open a master’s (S2) study program. Two master study programs are prepared at the FDK UIN Suska Riau, namely the Da’wah Management Study Program and the Communication Studies Study Program. To implement the plan, the leaders of the FDK UIN Suska Riau conducted a study at the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication Studies (Fidkom) Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN Syahid).
“We came here to learn from the FDK of UIN jakarta, because FDK UIN Syahid is older and more experienced. Our goal is to understand and learn about the institution, academics, and others at Fidkom of UIN Jakarta to apply in the FDK UIN Suska. One of them is the opening of the Master’s Degree in Da’wah Management, because we also have the intention of developing the Master’s Degree in Da’wah Management,” said the Dean of FDK UIN Suska Riau, Dr. Imron Rosidi MA, at Fidkom UIN Syahid, Ciputat, Banten, on Thursday (2/12/2021) morning.
In this activity, Dr. Imron MA was accompanied by Deputy Dean I Dr. Masduki MA, Deputy Dean III Dr. Arwan M.Ag, and Managing Editor of the Dakwah Risalah Journal, Dr. M. Badri M. Si. Meanwhile, Fidkom UIN Syahid was attended by Deputy Dean I Dr. Siti Napsiyah MSW, Deputy Dean II Drs. Cecep Castrawijaya MA, Deputy Dean III Dr. Sihabuddin Noor MA, Head of TU (General Administration), as well as several study program leaders and staffs. The Fidkom of UIN Syahid has now registered for the opening of the Da’wah Management Masters Program. “Currently the Master program of Da’wah Management has been submitted and is waiting for permission. Because now there is no Master program of Da’wah Management in Indonesia. So when the permit is issued, it will become history,” said Drs Cecep Castrawijaya, MA.
Dr. Siti Napsiyah added that the preparation for the opening of the Master program of Da’wah Management has been hampered by human resources who actually graduated from the Doctor of Da’wah Management. This is because there is no master and doctoral programs in the field of Da’wah Management in Indonesia. “For HR, we deal with lecturers who have a close discipline with da’wah management, such as a doctor of Management Science and a doctor of Da’wah Science,” he said. The activity was closed with the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the FDK of UIN Suska and the Fidkom of UIN Syahid. The scope of cooperation includes research, community service, organizing academic activities, publishing scientific papers, organizing scientific meetings, improving the quality of journals, and other activities agreed by both parties.
